Since you will be sharing your stories with me, I thought it would be fair that I share mine with you.

As is often the case, the hardest times in our lives end up showing us new directions, and that’s been true for me as well. 
Inspired by my own experiences with my children in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, I worked with babies, parents, and families for more than 12 years as a NICU Family Support Specialist.

From this experience, I’ve learned the importance of attachment, and I bring that understanding to our discussions of relationships and ways of being.​

Approach

​My primary therapeutic approach is relational and I also enjoy incorporating Acceptance Commitment Therapy into my practice.

My perspective is client-centred, which means that I see you as the expert of your life and your experiences.  I work within an anti-oppressive, anti-racist, LGBTQ2S-positive framework, and am committed to continued learning and accountability. I will honour the adaptations you’ve used to survive, while also honouring your desire to explore what else might be available to you. 

For 14 years, I've worked with people experiencing infertility, high risk pregnancies, NICU hospitalization, and bereavement. I have a deep interest in supporting caregivers, clinicians, and frontline workers, and also have experience helping people in creative professions. I have developed support programs for hospitalized families and trained peer counsellors across Canada. 

I’m a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).
